How do you find people who are “like-minded”?

It's quite simple. We ask you some questions about the things you enjoy—your lifestyle, views, values, and preferences. Then, we run your answers through an algorithm and introduce you to like-minded people via email. Additionally, when you look at someone else's profile, we'll show you how similar your answers are, all without revealing the your answers (which are kept private).

Having common interests, likes, and views is not the be-all and end-all when it comes to good friendships, but they are a great starting point. Our like-minded report helps you identify areas where your interests and views overlap with others. This can be a great ice-breaker and give you and others more reason to invest a little more time in pursuing a potential friendship.

I really enjoy using Frindow. I have had the opportunity as a user to connect with other users of the site and I feel part of an on-line community that is friendly and supportive. I have one good on-line friend and I have been able to join in fun conversations on site and also to extend friendship and support to other users. Thank goodness for a site that feels safe and secure for women to use and where friendship is what matters.

I’m adjusting to being on my own but joining Frindow has  meant I've never felt 'alone', as such. There's always someone ready for a chat and it has a real 'community' feel.

Even though I’ve only been a member of Frindow a short while I already feel part of a much larger community. There are light-hearted daily chats with regulars and I now have a new mix of online friends and people I’ve been able to meet up with locally. Frindow has helped open my world back up!

I have found frindow to be a good site to get to know people and also to help those who are going through a difficult time in their life. People ask me what makes me happy, and my answer to that is, "making other people happy". Frindow helps me to do that.

Thank you for creating this site. Never found anything quite like it and I think it is brilliant. So nice to find friends rather than those who are looking for a more romantic outcome.

Expanding Your Social Circle

Here's the why and the how.

Why is friendship important?

Our aim is to be a central hub for all things that help you make new friends and get connected. Friendships are essential for both physical and psychological health.

Research shows that strong social connections can boost your immune system, lower blood pressure, and increase your lifespan. Friends provide companionship during tough times, reduce loneliness, and improve mental health by increasing happiness and self-worth. Loneliness, on the other hand, is linked to health issues like depression, anxiety, and cardiovascular diseases. By fostering strong social connections, you can significantly reduce these risks.

We understand that making new friends as an adult can be challenging. Life circumstances such as starting a family, focusing on a career, retirement, or significant changes can make it difficult to connect with others. Having a robust social network at these times is crucial.

A good social life offers numerous benefits. Engaging in regular social activities can improve cognitive function, keep your mind sharp, and potentially reduce cognitive decline. Social interactions encourage positive behaviors, like regular physical activity and healthy eating. An active social circle makes your days more enjoyable. Friends offer different perspectives and new experiences, making everyday activities more fun. Whether trying a new hobby, exploring new places, or enjoying a good laugh, friends add joy and richness to your experiences.

At Frindow, we strive to help you expand your social circle, ensuring you have the companionship needed to lead a healthy and satisfying life.

How do you make new friends?

If you go online and search "How to make new friends," you'll probably find advice like joining a club, volunteering, and generally getting out there. This is all good and accurate advice, but where do you actually start? Which club should you join?

The good news is that Frindow makes finding new friends easy. How? It's simple. We organise events (get-togethers, as we call them) that are low-stress, casual, and frequent. We hold our get-togethers in cafes, pubs, bars, restaurants, parks, and sometimes cinemas, usually in or around Wandsworth.

As well as providing many opportunities to meet, we also have an online community if getting out and about isn't your thing. We offer online get-togethers, forums, and thousands of users online to strike up a conversation with.

Frindow has a number of groups that you can join to easily identify people with common interests. Furthermore, we have a detailed questionnaire that tells you how like-minded you are with someone else based on your responses to the same questions.

What sets Frindow apart is our commitment to fostering genuine connections. We understand that everyone has different comfort levels and preferences when it comes to socializing. That’s why our events range from small, intimate gatherings to larger community activities, ensuring there's something for everyone.

So, making new friends starts here. Join the site, fill in your profile (making yourself nice and approachable), and get involved in our get-togethers. Meeting new people has never been easier.
